Global Flight Tracking

Hi.

A girl friend has gone on holiday to the US and will also be flying within the country. I'd like to be able to watch her flight but instead of just the usual departure and arrival information, I'd also like to be able to view a map of the flight, where it is now, either real time or as near to as possible.

I am very interested in flight in general, and was wondering if there was a service which provided real time flight tracking around the world with mapping as well? I would also be parepared topay for such a service if it was good enough and provided global tracking.

Friend's flight lands at midnight, would like to be able to watch it cross the atlantic and then across the US.

Thanks.

H.

I have used https://www.flightaware.com which I seem to remember is more in real time than some others and https://www.flightstats.com which gives you loads of extra info about the flights and airports (if you really want to know), https://www.aeroseek.com/webtrax/airnav.html. is another one which I don’t think is on Ashok’s list.
I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes.

Google Earth has a free add on that does this (you need to download google earth and then goto their website to look for their add ons). You get a really decent satalite image (not reall time unfortunately) and they add in the realtime flights. You just need her flight number. Have a look on their website.

Thanks, will give it another go. When I tried google Earth about a year ago I remember it wouldn't work with my screen reader - the images were all distorted even after disabling directX (actually that killed the whole program altogether). Hence why I prefer static images that can be refreshed.

but maybe they've changed it, so I'll have another look.
