ie 7 keeps failing over

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me out - I run ie7 on my PC (as well as Firefox) and I have had no problems with it at all until today, when it just won't start up.

It apparently connects with the internet site but then the I get the 'Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close' pop-up.

I've tried re-installing directly from the Microsoft site but no joy.

Firefox is running fine, and I don't appear to have any other problems with my PC.

I have a laptop running ie7 and that is fine, so it's obviously something on the PC. Can anyone give me any pointers to solve this?

Thanks

It could be Google tool bar it was doing that to mine go to add and remove programs or when the the error comes up press the blue writing to find out whats causing it.
  • Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I didn't believe it was google toolbar as I've had problems with that myself before and I don't install it now but I thought I'd have a check through the add/remove programs bit (in case I'd installed it accidentally), then I remembered that yesterday I'd installed the checker from the Mrs Cashback site, so I removed that, rebooted and ie is working fine again now. :j

For info, I didn't have any problems yesterday, only after I'd shut the PC down and then started it again.
