Do you have any PDF reader installed? Is the icon of the files saved on My Docs showing an icon or just blank?
Use either SumatraPDF or Foxit Reader or PDF-XChange.
Adobe reader is slow, insecure and runs annoying helper app at startup0 -
I have not had this problem at all previously. There is an Icon showing in My Docs. I have reinstalled Adobe reader but same problem. I will install PDF - XChange and let you know. Thanks. Can't really understand why this has suddenly happened.0

Not sure which version of Windows you're using, but you may find that the file association for the *.pdf file extension has been changed/deleted. Check for pdf what program is supposed to open.
Another way to try is open Adobe first and then goto the file option and open a file from there. If it works, I would suspect the association - for XP goto the control panle/folder options/file types....0 -
Thanks. Yes when I open Adobe first I can open files from My Docs. My problem still is that I cannot open any email attachments. I do have Windows Xp. Not sure what to change when I go into control panel, Advice would be greatly appreciated here. Not a techie myself0

In the control panel, click on "folder options", then in the next panel click on the "file types" tab. Next scroll down to "pdf".
In the new panel, it should tell you which program opens with this extension, if it isn't adobe reader, then click on "change"; or if the extension isn't there at all, you can click on "add".
The rest should be pretty obvious, but if you need more help then post back.0 -
Thanks. On control panel clicking on file types there is Extension PDFXML Details Adobe Acrobat PDFXML document which says opens with Adobe Reader. Have been fiddling with email attachments and when it asks Windows needs to know what programme created it from the list, on selecting Adobe it opens. It had always opened automatically prior to this without the need to do the above.0

"*.PDFXML" is not the same as "*.pdf" . Are you sure there is no item listed for "*.pdf" on its own? If not then click on new and create it, pointing to adobe reader as the "exe" file. That is almost definately your problem. From what your last post says, it is an file association error.0
