My MIL is housebound and in reciept of HRM and HRC DLA and ESA.
She had a letter today to say they were changing her to the Income ESA and now needs to go for an ATOS medical... But she had an ATOS one a while ago.
I'm not sure why they are moving her onto the other ESA though..?!

because Income Based ESA pays less than Contribution Based ESA. Those in the work-related Group maintain their Cont Based ESA for a maximum of 365 days and are then moved onto IB ESA. Those in the support group already on Cont Based ESA maintain the rate. Cost cutting by our wonderful government0

Was she on contribution based ESA before?
How long has she been on it?
It sounds like she's been on contribution based ESA for the maximum 1 year and is now being assessed for income based ESA.0 -
Yeah the letter mentions that shes been on it a year.0

Ok it will be because she is in the WRAG and has been for the maximum for a year on CB ESA.
She will now be assessed for income based ESA. Does she have a partner? Do they work?0 -

Your wrong, income based ESA pays much more than the basic contributions based ESA. When you get DLA or are awarded the support group of ESA your ESA increases by 2/3rds or more.0 -
not according to the letter I've just received from DWP.0

Shes on full DLa both components. Doesnt work and doesnt have a partner.0

Ok so she will be transferred to income based ESA, so long as she scores enough points at the medical.0

poppa g what letter? I was under the impresion that income based ESA means you attract premiums if they are applicable, meaning that your money will increase.0

As long as she doesn't have savings over £16,000, if she does then no ESA. If between £6 and £16,000 it will be reduced.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -
