CPN for ticket that had blown onto the seat

Yes they will do that. They will say you failed to display it but in the context that you paid that is completely irrelevant. They cannot apply the same rules as councils can, because councils have the law on their side and the private firms don't. So don't say it's an appeal, TELL them you aren't going to give them a penny. SEND it in without a stamp. That gives them the idea you are not going to be bullied and they are far more likely to let it go. Whatever you do don't ask nicely. These are bullies, and the way to deal with bullies is to show you're not afraid.
Even if inside you're worrying, lol!
Nothing will happen. I have personally seen off over 80 of these scam tickets and never paid anyone a penny.0 -
If you must write do not appeal simply state that the car was parked it was paid for, here is the ticket and that you expect no more communication from them.
You will still get the unsuccessful appeal letter, followed by the usual chain, but that's all you will get.0 -
However, putting in your marker early like this opens the door for suing them for harassment if they continue- ignoring them hinders you in that.
If the OP is a "Born Worrier" they may not want to be bullish and actually sue, but persuading the PPC that you will is likely to cut out any further correspondence.0 -

I think the OP will prove to be more of a "Born Warrior".The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -

I hope so! Turning the tables on a bully can be VERY uplifting.... and it is soooo easy.... but thats for the future.
I will PM you a draft, BW.0 -
Before I do that, BW, can I ask a simple question: Is there anything on the ticket which identifies it as being yours, i.e., were you required to input any part of your registration number when you bought it? Just so I can phrase the letter appropriately.0

I do understand the need to write, the need to feel that you are doing something, the need to defend yourself. Just ignoring everything does seem counter-intuitive.
I feel that you, quite understandably, believe that other people are as as honourable as you are. And, thankfully, most are. But, unfortunately, these aren't.
Some lessons cannot be taught and have to be learned.
When the rejection letter arrives, I do reserve the right to say that I told you so. Nicely. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Hi Give them FA, unfortunately I was not asked for my reg number. So no there is nothing to say that the ticket was mine. Sorry.0

OK, makes no odds. Ignore the PM I sent asking you this, I will now send you a letter you can use.0
