Went to post office to get a parcel delivered by recorded delivery, once the cashier had put it through she told me that should this item get lost stolen or broken i won't be issued a refund in cash but only stamps :eek:, is this right, have they changed there policy and if so since when?
I didn't think to ask the cashier if i'd heard right (didn't want to seem like an idiot
) but the person i was with repeated what she had said, is it a new thing or were we miss informed?
Thanks.

It hasn't change and half the time post office staff don't udnerstand the refund rules.
Recorded is standard post, so as long as it is an item that is covered standard mail and you cna show the value (receipt or sale page or soemthing) then you can claim (currently) up to £46. It is paid by cheque.
The problem with recorded is that in many areas it is never signed for but that doesn't mean RM will automatically refund, they still go through th enormal process for investigating loss and you still need to prove the value of the lost item.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
