did you book with easyjet? My son was booked on a group booking for a stag and they put Charles and his name is Charlie. They will change spelling mistakes or shorten names free of charge. They only charge if its a complete name change (a new person)

There was several mistakes on a booking of 32 men and I had to change it 3-4 times and had no problems.

    Just give them a call.

Gave them a call and got it sorted for free, really helpful and said it was a genuine mistake...delighted!!
  • One of the reasons I quite like easyjet - the point of name changes charges is to stop people buying up and reselling cheap tickets, not to make money off genuine mistakes.

A lesson for a certain irish airline perhaps?

My Dads name is Gareth known as Gary - Easyjet would NOT accept Gary as a shortened version and insisted on charging

Might be a bit borderline -eg they are fine changing say Roz to Rosalind or Tony to Anthony -but Roy and Robert are two entirely different names (whereas say Bob is an accepted shortened version). You may need to try more than once to get a sympathetic agent (or one who doesn't think you are substituting one brother with another). Costs nothing to try though-be super nice when you ring through and get them on your side as it's not a right but a discressionary thing .

But it is only the first name they are correcting the spelling of, not changing the first and last name to a different person.

I phoned and the call centre must be local (Northern Ireand). The guy said it was £40 each way but he could see it was a genuine mistake and would do it for free. Think you need to sell your tale of woe before telling them your error.. really impressed by them..
