I've just come back from Asda and it was absolutely packed in there. Do people think the shops are shutting for a month because it's Easter or something?!

They were doing 4 Easter eggs for £5 and people were piling their trollies with them. I'm not sure how much they usually are though as I don't buy them.

Anyway, one of the fridges was full of reduced meat items and I got:
    • organic pork mince reduced from £1.47 to 80p
    • Aberdeen Angus Topside Joint reduced from £8.79 to £3.93
    • Whole Bone in Lamb Shoulder reduced from £7.07 to £2.97
    • Streaky Pork Slices reduced from £1.38 to 70p
    • Pork Belly Joint reduced from £2.06 to £1.00
    • Pork Belly Joint reduced from £2.69 to £1.00
Anyone got any ideas as to what I could do with the lamb shoulder? I bought it because it was reduced, lol, but have no idea what to do with it.

*Forgot to add that I bought some tealights for the garden, they were priced at 37p on the shelf but I got charged 97p for them. In my pre MSE days, I wouldn't have noticed until I got home and even then, I'd just grumble to OH. Today.....I went straight to customer services and pointed it out. Got my money back as well as £2.00 on a gift card. Woo hoo!*
I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....

Easter Saturday Evening will be the best time to go shopping at the supermarkets. As they will not be open on Easter Sunday my thought is that they will have loads of foods reduced

I called on my way home thanks to your post :D

    I got 4 pizza's from £2.48 to £1.00 & some king prawns from £2.68 to 50p :rotfl:

Since becoming an MSE member we make our own pizza's but it was nice to get some ready made ones so cheaply to chuck in the freezer for a night when we dont want to cook - thank you Oueyouey for the tip :D

I've been lurking for a couple of weeks picking up hints and tips. Can I just say a big thank you to everyone ... we are saving a fortune :-)

We are stopping our mobile phone contracts and going PAYG
We now make the washing powder mix ... and it's better than the brands
We now have home prepared meals ... eating better for less money
We bought a composting bin this weekend and are now recycling
We have seeds growing on the kitchen window sill and the garlic clove is growing like a triffid ... (and hubbie is busy with plans to dig up our lawn)

... and I will be at the supermarket doors at 8.30 a.m. on Monday hoping for a bargain or two :-)

But if its your usual working day & the place you work is closed you should still get paid?
