    Unless your passport expires first
Or you renew your passport before it expires
Or you change your name and get a new passport
Or you get a new passport for any other reason

Sorry another poster further up said the Esta is only valid for 90 days when in fact it is is valid for two years so long as your passport remains in date during that time.

The post referenced a single trip - max duration of 90 days which is all you can visit visa free...ESTA is valid for 2 years, but you can't stay in the US for 2 solid years on just an ESTA. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • Good old ESTA and VWP confusion on terminology.

The chances of anyone in the US knowing of your criminal past is zero unless you tell them - or your case was very high profile.

So applying for a visa INCREASES your chances of not getting into the US.

Having a "very high profile" case has nothing to do with it.

You can either use the VWP or not.

    The question doesn't ask
    B) Have you ever been arrested or convicted for an offense or crime involving moral turpitude or a violation related to a controlled substance; or have been arrested or convicted for two or more offenses for which the aggregate sentence to confinement was five years or more; or were involved in a high level case; or have been a controlled substance trafficker; or are you seeking entry to engage in criminal or immoral activities; or do you beleive you can commit immigration fraud without getting caught?

So you think entering twice, in the space of a month, to do some work, makes it

    A) less likely he'll get questioned or

    B) more likely.
  • Does anyone know how long will it take to get the Esta? I expect that kids over 13 have to apply? week, two?? and does it arrive by post.

    About 5 minutes. Apply here

You don't even need to print it off, but I would.
