The post referenced a single trip - max duration of 90 days which is all you can visit visa free...ESTA is valid for 2 years, but you can't stay in the US for 2 solid years on just an ESTA.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

The chances of anyone in the US knowing of your criminal past is zero unless you tell them - or your case was very high profile.
So applying for a visa INCREASES your chances of not getting into the US.0 -

Having a "very high profile" case has nothing to do with it.
You can either use the VWP or not.
The question doesn't ask
