Learn the internet book for the older generation?

My mum's birthday is next week and now that she has broadband I wondered about getting a book for her.
I've seen Internet for Seniors and Internet for Dummies, although I wondered if she might take offence at Dummies!
Any recommendations? I'm looking for a book that's easy to understand and preferably one that uses IE7.

Having been "on line" since 1995, I'm not in a good position to recommend a book that's up to date.
I put my aged Mum on-line last year and solved part of the problem by buying her a Mac Mini, rather than go through the nightmare of Windows.
There must be some on-line tutorials.

I like The Rough Guide to the Internet by Peter Buckley and Duncan Clark.
This is what Amazon's blurb says about it:This multi-million-selling Internet book is still the ultimate handbook for novices and experts alike. Written in plain English, it covers everything from getting online for the first time to newsfeeds, Internet telephony and advanced tips and tricks guaranteed to turn casual surfers into Net gurus. Now in a new stylish square format, this fully updated guide covers all the latest sites and crazes, including Skype and blogging. Whether you've never sent an email or you just want to keep up with the latest developments, this is the book for you.0 -

On-line tutorials are OK if she can follow my instructions in the first place. I thought a book may be handy for back up reference although I know she won't read instructions. I'm hoping my dad will though as he's showing an interest now that it's broadband and he can use it any time without thinking of phone charges.0 -
