MBNA PPI Claim

I have complained about an MBNA credit card which I didnt realise had PPI attached. The response has come back that because I at the time ticked the box, and this was a non-advised sale, they say they are rejecting the claim.
I dont recall having PPI on this account, and didnt on other credit cards I had at the time, I was in full employment with cover provided, so dont think I needed the cover, and didnt understand what I was ticking for.
Should I proceed this claim with the Ombudsman?

The problem here is that the PPI would have shown up on your statements every month so saying you don't recall having it doesn't really work. It doesn't matter that you didn't have it on other credit cards and being in full employment makes you more eligible for the insurance than someone who was unemployed, self-employed or employed on a temporary basis. Did your existing cover offer the same protection as the PPI for the same duration etc? There's absolutely nothing stopping you from taking this to the ombudsman, that's your choice entirely but these aren't the strongest reasons for complaint so it may not get very far. Did MBNA provide you with a copy of your application form to back up what they've said - worth checking, just in case you didn't actually tick the box at all.0

Don't know if you're still around, but I'm having the same problem with them and was wondering how you got on in the end.
