Cheers all.
I've used very cheap ink before, and I'm not saying the link is there (because it doesn't sound right in my head) but 2 of my printers have broken completely after using very cheap ink - and I know a few people have reported that too.
Might try a few of the ink links pasted in above though, and I think the reduced capacity thing is probably pertinent for the ones they supply with a new printer.
But that rings alarm bells slighty - there are a lot of 'cheaper' Canon cartridges on EBAY, and I'd say a huge majority are the ones you get with as new printer, as they're advertised as 'unboxed'0 -
funny thing about cheap ink is epson dont actually make the ink they have their own suppliers, and these suppliers also sell the ink to other ink cartridge manufacturers but are not aloud to say its the same ink used by epson, but can say its compatible with it.
My epson sx200 is now 3years old and i've been using compatibles with it which have a self life of 2years but are still working fine. no difference in quality as far as i can tell.0 -
I have two SX415 and two PX800FW and have had the chance to run one of each with compatibles and one with the cartridges out of the box, and have yet to find anyone who can spot the difference.
Same with paper quality setting, using ultra glossy but setting the printer to photo quality inkjet produces identical output, though quicker and the nozzles do not seem to block at all now.0
