Hi, this is my first post....just discovered Diggerland..looks like a great ironic day out....but at £17, that is quite expensive for irony. Anyone know of any discounts? BTW....I haven't got anything to do with diggerland, even though my username is juliedigger.....my real surname was already taken, and I'd just looked at the website when I created my username yesterday, and I couldn't think of anything else!

hi hun, ive been there i got a free ticket with kent big weekend out..and i have to say i found it a bit pants tbh! i live not far from it and i know lots are dissapointed with it. firstly the diggers we had to queue ages in the rain as theres no covering so if you do go make sure its sunny. Take your own food theres is way over priced and you have to sit on the floor as last time we went the tables where taken by all the paying customers. there is about 6 rides you queue to go on the majority are at least £1 a go. i personally whouldn't go again it was a waste of time and that was with a free ticket !Compers challenge 27/70

Thanks for that advice....perhaps I won't bother then...certainly won't be paying full price. So you pay £17 and then pay on top for the rides? That's ridiculous. Have a lovely weekend. xx0

Also been to the Diggerland in Durham, which is obviously too far away for you Julie.
We went at half term in February using Tesco Vouchers. Four of us got in for £20 of vouchers.
The park was virtually empty and the kids got on all the diggers for as long as they wanted. At one point they were on a digger for almost half an hour.
The prices in the cafe were also very reasonable, but I guess that's because of demographics.
There was no extra cost for the diggers once we were in.
After saying all the above, would we have paid full price to go and have enjoyed it if there were long waiting times?? Probably not.Dave. :wave:0 -
I've been considering going to OP as my son loves diggers but from what I remember of the website there was quite a long stretch where they were only open at weekends so you might want to clarify the dates your local one is open. I wouldn't go though if you had to pay for rides on top of the entrance fee that's daylight robbery!
I found some reviews for you so hopefully this can help you make up your mind x
