Suggestions please - single female.

I've just been given my rota for the next few weeks and have been given an unexpected treat of two consecutive days off preceeded by an afternoon and then a late shift when I go back, its mid week so going to visit friends is out as most of them work Mon - Friday. So am thinking about having a 'weekend' away.

I'm ideally looking for something not more than 90 mins to two hours driving from home - which is the Aldershot area, obviously as I'll be alone I'm not too bothered by night life but I am fairly outdoorsy, so am thinking south coast and spend a couple of days walking coastal paths but I don't really know the south all that well being a transplanted Northerner.

My budget is 'cheapish' but pretty flexible, obviously being on my own I'm not bothered by luxury but would prefer a hotel with its own restaurant/bar or a reasonable BnB as I'd feel quite uncomfortable eating/drinking alone in the evening elsewhere.

If you're looking for something along the coast and out-doorsy, how about learning to sail or windsurf.
I did it at a water sports centre at Liverpool Docks and it was great fun even if you do spend more time falling in.

Not really my thing, I'm much happier under the water hence the username, plus I've already got assorted RYA quals, and not really wanting to/can afford to be 'doing' anything just feel like getting out and about or I'd be looking at booking a dive trip although if I find something that looks interesting and fairly cheaply wherever I decide to go I'd not rule it out.

TBH I just want to be *anywhere* that isn't home as I start to get cabin fever at home for a day at a time never mind two at the moment. Not lived in this area long and while at home in Manchester I'd have headed in to the Lakes or up to Scotland for a few days I don't really know where to start looking down here! Plymouth and Portsmouth areas are a possibility as I've stayed in both places in the past on diving trips but don't know the landside stuff as well as I do the dive sites to make a choice.

I spend more time under the water when i'm sailing.
I'd like to scuba dive, the thing that puts me off in this Country is the cold, but maybe one day.
I don't know down there but good luck.

Lol its not that cold in the sea round the UK, its the inland water that's cold!

Thanks, I'll be looking to book in the next week or so if noone suggests anywhere in particular I'll probably look at Portsmouth/Plymouth again. At least I know there are things to do there if the weather's a bit pants for walking.
