Hi
I am currently with British gas for my gas and electric. Its just the standard rate and i pay my bills in full. However recently im finding the bills getting higher and finding it hard to get the funds together ontime to pay so i'm looking at moving it to a Direct debit.
Yearly it works out i pay at the moment around £1030 yearly. There is only 2 of us and we work during the day so never at home.
Ive noticed that EDF have this blue promise which i think looks ok, however im so confused with the jargon and what they meal by usage and spends etc!!!! This is the first time ive looked into switching- we only rent and are trying to save a deposit for a house (which is taking its toll!!!) so im trying to see the best and lowest D/D i can. If anyone has any info or advice they could help me with it would be appreciated.
Thankyou

Use a comparison site to find the cheapest deal for you.
Use your annual consumption in kWh on the comparison site (not cost)
Remember to also consider separate suppliers as dual fuel is not always the cheapest solution."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Everything you need is on this page :

If you are short of money and saving for a deposit, then why are you on the most expensive BG tariff (Standard), and paying by the most expensive method (quarterly billing).
Switching via a comp site and cashback site takes at most 20 minutes once you have your annual kWh figures, no need to go near the supplier sites at all.
So the advice is: switch and stop throwing money away.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
