£28.62 in MrS. We needed cat fud so no choice really. Got various basics to try inc 8p mushy peas. The big boxes of weetos are on bogof which makes them cheaper than own brand.
I did cancel the F&V box so £15.50 saved there at least.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Okay. A few spends today
The spend was more than I planned because my family are visiting and my mum only likes bran-flakes for breakfast and my sister requested bacon sandwiches. Neither of them like any 'cheap' meats (such as thighs, anything slow cooked or anything on a bone!) Which meant I needed to get chicken breasts which is something I don't normally buy.
Well I hope they bring you a box of nice biscuits or something to make up for all the expense and fussiness.
It is good to have guests but does get expensive.GC June £78.50 / £250, May £262 / £250.

DS2 has a friend for tea tonight - only arranged yesterday. The planned lamb curry has been put off for another night and instead I did cottage pie with DR steak mince, carrot, swede, onion, celery, red lentils, beef stock, worcestershire sauce, and seasoning. It was lush even tho' I say so myself. Trouble was DS2's friend (who ate with his fingers ??????) only ate a few mouthfuls - so
He has just asked for a biscuit because he is hungry - I have said No - tough my little friend, you should have eaten your dinner :rotfl:Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -
Good for you Coxy, its very annoying when kids are overly fussy!
Hmmm....have completely bust the budget0 -
I bought the book that someone recommended, sorry can't find the post again - Low cost living by Jonathan Harrision for my kindle yesterday £4.08 but I'm not adding that to the grocery budget. Don't really know which budget it is going to come out of then. Have only just started it but looks good so far.
That was me!Glad you like it!
I've not been on for a couple of days - no phone or tinternet :eek::eek: so loads of reading to catch up on! What did we do before broadband???

Hello everyone and welcome to the newbies on here
I was hoping for another NSD today as I was at work, but the best laid plans etc.....
DD2 decided to bake birthday cakes for her friends and used up most of the eggs, so she rang me to buy some more at work
And DH went to MrT's and bought a few things - £10.57
but at least they were things we actually use!
So my GC total this week is way over target.
Will update total on signature.2025 Fashion on the ration

Mr T got £36.24 in this weeks main shop. Didnt need a lot as loads in the freezer. So hopefully under budget this week.0

Spent ~£66 in MrT tonight. Puts me about halfway through the budget for May but not too unhappy with that. I have so much in now that the freezer is full, the fridge is full and the pantry cupboard is full to bursting too. Only place where there's room to hide food is the breadbin, and as BM is going on soon, I'm pretty sure that'll be full in the morning. If I can't make that last for the next few weeks then I deserve to go hungry for the rest of the month!
micropuds have become a bit of an issue though. Jam sponge on tuesday. Syrup sponge on Thursday. Chocolate/nutella sponge tonight. I think I need to have a couple of days off!0
