    Afternoon all

Did my weekly shop yesterday (or rather MrS did and then kindly delivered it to my kitchen!). Spent more than I wanted but did buy several extra bits and find that I'm better to spend a bit more in the weekly shop than keep popping into SM as I can never just buy what I need. I've soon spent another £20 on what?!

Will be a hard month as have a birthday in the house this week, and we're away several weekends, and it's our turn to host some friends whilst away in the caravan in mid May - will do my best!

Someone has mentioned uploading a picture of a meal/food they have made, how do you do that?

Have a good weekend everyone, stay safe and well x

nmlc you need to have the photos uploaded to Flickr/Photobucket or a blog first. I am not too good at explaining things - hope someone comes along to help.

I couldn't remember which thread JJ posted the recipe. :o I have put my result on here as - I had run out of water biscuits for my lunch. I wanted today to be a NSD so - I had one of the JJ recipe makes I baked last night. I will have another go at this recipe - until I get it right! My mix was way too wet - added more flour but it was really wet! So I had to bake for ages with the heat turned down to dry out the excess moisture - so I am saying mine looked rustic!!
However - the taste was wonderful! Mr F had one too and loved it - I told him - they will be nicer when I get them right! :) We had some of my HM pickled onions - October 2009 - still crunchy - I like spicy pickled onions. The ones you buy have additives/preservatives/colouring - mine don't have that but keep fine!
I thought showing my baking mishap is good - I have been cooking since I was 18 - got married young! Everyone has failures - we just have to try again.

Further to my earlier post about whiteboards, how does everyone meal plan? I started a meal planning - how do you do yours ??? thread and went to read up and remind myself today except the thread has vanished  There were some really useful ideas on there.

Well - two of us on MSE have found the mix too wet - so try cutting down the amount of milk.

I just look in the freezer/cupboards first for what stock I have and meal plan around that. If you don't have any/much stock - write down some economical meals - do a shopping list for them - shop but be flexible. If you have Toad in the hole on your list but sausages are full price while sausage meat is reduced price - do Toad in the Road instead. Say cheese quiche is on your menu but cheese/single cream is not reduced or low enough price for your budget but bacon is on offer - make egg/bacon pie instead. Hth.
