Share scam Greenwood Capital Investors

April 2012 - Greenwood Capital Investors, a supposedly US based company, is offering me a lot of money for some very low-value shares I hold in Oak Holdings Ltd. They claim to be agents for a company in a hostile take-over. They ring a lot and are very credible with an apparently valid website. FSA have confirmed they are not valid and not listed in their register. They are asking for cash in advance from the small investor as a share of an insurance indemnity bond. They will get no money from me - make sure they get none from you either.

Thank you Agogojo - they are trying to contact me about my Oak Holdings shares. I will ignore the calls.0

I have had calls from both these supposed companies in respect of Watford Leisure shares. Ignore them - a complete scam - and not very spohisticated at that.
Sorry should be Hannover Rothchild (no 's')0 -
BTW Greenwood Capital could be a real company - plenty of references from other sources (eg Bloomberg) - so amy be these people are just using the name falsely. Hannover Rothchild does not seem to have any credibility.0

Thanks Bob - my mistake I think. There is a real company called Greenwood Capital and I expect that's what the scammers wanted me to find. But they later emailed a supposed document with a website on it with 'advisors' replacing 'investors' which is more dodgy-looking.0

I too have been approached by an Andrew Price of Greenwood Capital Advisors (New York) to sell shares back to them for Evergreen Securities. They haven't yet asked for money but I immediately smelt a rat and knew it was a scam. Please be warned!0

Green wood Capital seem to be at it again - this time with shares in Genus. They allege that there is a takeover and they are working for a client ..... I smelt a rat on this and activity stopped. They have sent a "non-disclosure agreement" - which looks genuine, if it wasn't for the fact that as a lawyer in this field myself I know that this is not how this activity happens. Local police fraud people have been advised. be warned !!0

I have bene approached by Greenwood, offering me a fantastic sum for some worthless shares. Could anyone please advise me how to report these people to the Police/FSA or whoever else can stop them?0

There is a 'Share fraud and boiler room' reporting form on the FSA website. Find it by using the search facility on the website.
I have been contacted by Greenwood about some Pace shares. They are very persistent, but thanks to this website, I will be ignoring them from now on.0
