Hi
Wondered if someone could help with a question on maternity leave pay.
I believe that someone can take upto a year off but how is this paid.
Full pay for all of it or just some and if just some what does it drop to.
Assuming qualifying period has been met and return to work for period of 12 months after .
I don't want to ask this question at present to HR as they are the biggest gossips and news would spear like wild fire.
thanks in advance

Hello! It depends on the company/organisation you work for as they will have their own maternity pay policies. I received a gradually reduced wage over a 40 week period then nothing until I returned to work
You will definitely get your statutory maternity pay which will be around £500 a month for 9 months though.0 -

You've asked on the Armed Forces Board - are you UK Regular Armed Forces?
The scheme is called the AFOMS - Armed Forces Occupational Maternity Scheme. This is the link to the RAF Fam Fed pages: http://www.raf-ff.org.uk/policies-leavepolicy-maternityleaveandarrang.asp
upto 26 weeks on Ordinary Maternity Leave (OML) - full pay
upto 26 weeks on Additional Maternity Leave (AML) - first 13 weeks at Statutory Maternity Pay, second 13 weeks with no pay
if you meet the qualifying criteria (i.e. have been serving long enough and are returning to work etc)
Obviously HR aren't ALLOWED to gossip about confidential information...
Hope that starts you on the information hunt!Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
