Second income due to agency work

Hi, I'm just looking for a little bit of advice as the tax credits web page is little help.
I have a joint claim for tax credits with my husband. He is currently employed full time 37.5 hours per week. I have just signed up to work for a agency after 12 months out of work, and am wondering how I go about declaring my income, as it's not regular income, or even regular work so I cannot be sure on what I will be earning. I don't want to put my family in a position where we are worse off by me working through the agency.
I hope that makes sense
