Has this happened to anyone else?
Today I received three parcels:
1. A Playstation controller, ordered through Amazon and delivered by Royal Mail parcels.
2. Some kind of extension lead, posted through Royal Mail special delivery and delivered by the same van.
3. Another extension lead or similar, delivered a few minutes later by the ordinary postman.
I didn't order any of these items. Although my address was on all three parcels, none of them had a name. The Amazon parcel had the same address as a "billing address", but again no name.
I signed for the first two parcels, as I had a couple of orders on the way, only to discover on opening them that they weren't what I was expecting. When the third one arrived, I left it unopened. A few minutes later I saw the Royal Mail van across the road and explained to the driver that I hadn't ordered any of the items. He couldn't explain how the parcels had no name on them, but said he would return them, so I handed them over.
But now I'm worried. I've signed for two of the parcels, including the Playstation controller. What if someone along the line takes a look in the box and decides to keep it?
Has this happened to anyone else? How can people order stuff without the seller asking for their name? Is this some kind of scam?
