SAR template help

Hi all. Like most people we are hoping to claim back any ppi we may be entitled to, but am not completely sure on first step. In the early 2000's we had 3 credit cards on the go with Lloyds TSB, Capital One & MBNA, but we no longer have any details of accounts no's or credit cards as they were all paid off and accounts closed over 6 years ago.
I have had a good look around the forums and cant seem to find a relevant SAR letter we could use. The ones I have found all seem to start with the account details, which we no longer know or have any evidence of. We have also moved 4 times in the last few years, but have details of all our old addresses. I'm sure lots of other people must have sent in SAR letters with no knowledge of their old accounts/credit cards and am hoping their must be a relevant template letter we could use for ours. Or will I just need to adapt the main template people have been using off this forum?
Any ideas?
Thanks
Mark

Adapt the main template letter. Make sure you include all previous addresses and your full name/s. To be honest as the accounts are very old the banks may not hold any records for you anyway now but no harm in trying, sometimes they do hold records beyond 6 years. The most important thing in this whole process is to have a clear reason why you were mis-sold, without that you have no complaint at all.0

Ok, thanks for that. At the moment we are not 100% sure if we had ppi on our old credit cards and loans, but the chances are that its more than likely, so for the sake of £10 worth finding out. Do you think I should put all our old addresses on a seperate piece of paper or include it on the original letter?0

Include it in the letter - it would be far too easy for it to somehow go missing otherwise, they can be fantastically inefficient about these things. Send it to the Data Compliance Dept not the PPI complaints dept. You should be able to find an address for Data Compliance on the banks' wesbites. Remember to take a copy of anything you send them and also send it with proof of delivery. They have 40 days from date of receipt of your SAR to respond (I'd give them an extra few days once the 40 days are up if you haven't received anything before chasing them as we're all at the mercy of the Post Office and its funny ways)

Hi there, these threads have been helpful and am trying to make a claim on Debenhams mis-sold PPI but don't have a full account number. I'm happy to send a SAR and see what details come back to me but does anyone know if it would included account (S) numbers to help make the claim and once the SAR is sent and rec'd back, that's when I progress with the claim? Am very new to this! Thanks!0

If you ask for all info they hold on you then you may get the agreement with the account number.
When you have the account number and reasons for mis sell then you put the claim into the bank or Catalogue company.0 -
Thanks for the replies. I have now done the letter and am sending the first one off to Lloyds TSB today. Fingers crossed.0

Just wanted to check. I assume the cheque for Lloyds would be payable to Lloyds TSB plc. Any ideas?0
