Possible to supply and fit kitchen for £2K?

Hi all, my kitchen is 350cm X 210cm. I would want 9 units and worktop fitting. Kitchen fully tiled including floor . Existing kitchen including part tiled walls removed. Would this be possible for supply and fit for around £2K?

I live in East Anglia. Just wondering if it's even worth getting any quotes. Thanks all.

  • I imagine to get anywhere at that sort of price you'll have to do the majority of the grunt work yourself.

Look for remainder or sale cabinets and build them yourself, only a get a fitter in for the worktops and possibly a tiler if required (although tiling is easy, it just takes a bit of time and patients).

Do you need appliances as well?

Yes it is, we fitted our kitchen (Ikea, very pleased with it) and tiled the floors for under £2k. This is not including appliances which we kept the old ones and have been slowly changing over to newer ones that take up the same space. We did do all the work ourselves with the majority of it being done in around a week.

Note: Unless you are fairly handy with a hammer/drill/measuring tape then I would not suggest doing this, it is a lot of work although fun!

You could try what we have done in the last 9 houses and saved thousands.Phone up local kitchen suppliers/guilders merchants and ask if they have any show kitchens.cancelled orders available. We have bought several kitchens priced in thousands for a few hundred.Be prepared to put your cash were your mouth is and take the kitchens out and install yourself. Remember ,it's only boxes and if you use your loaf you can find many ways to re-configure the shape. It is usual that the worktops obviously have to be changed,re-bought, to suit your kitchen. One thing to watch out for when re-planning ,is the position of existing handles as they will have drill holes already there. Some base units are the same hieght as floor units so a right opening top box door can become a left handed base unit door. I don't want to give too many of my dodges away but I cansay I have my next kitchen stored in the garage. 28units,some with glazed door, single electric oven/gas hob. top of the range extractor.s/s sink and mixer tap.wait for it,£400 plus 2 days work,.Included. pelmet/light baffles and down lighters.
  • Just bought a second hand (great condition) kitchen from ebay. £283 for 12 units plus electric oven and hob. Will need to buy new worktops and sink, maybe another cupboard or two to make everything fit, and gas fitter for the hob. Going to be way under £1000 :)
