The remaining 55 Gadgetshop stores will close over the next four weeks, after a closing down sale, according to the administrators

Perhaps they'll buy in some Rover cars as a clearance special. They would fit in very well with the rest of the sh1te they sell in their shops.

Ok been into gadget shop and spoke with the manager who has always been very helpful.

As of last Thursday it appears they have been put on 4 weeks notice (I think that's what he meant - didnt want to push) 5 shops were closed yesterday and as far as he was concerned he could just get a phone call and be told to close.

The only thing he was sure of was that he would be open over the weekend as the ADMINISTRATORS dont work at the weekend.

The shop was really low on stock but he did indicate they may offer a final BANKRUPTCY type sale but no idea when - depending on when the shop would close and that is different for each store.

Our local store is still offering an extra 20% of the already REDUCED sale prices - ie £10 Bad Taste bears marked down to £8 and get a further 20% off down to £6.20.

One final point - I bought a rather neat 60gb PVR a month back £400 down to £350 in the sale and then a further 20% off so down to £280. Paid for it on credit card so I would assume if/when GADGET SHOP are finally gone the credit card company will be responsible ?

    Hello,

I have just come back from a shopping trip from the Gadget Shop. Everything is still marked as full price but there is a very small, partly hidden notice by the till saying 70% off all marked prices. I bought a dual alarm clock fm radio cd player reduced from £40 to £6!!

They also had Magic 8 balls for £1.50 reduced from £5, as well as some shower radios at £3 and various other clocks. Not much left but the stuff that is left is very cheap!

Today the staff at the Braehead , Glasgow store, were busy dismantling the shelves, not much stock left. They still have some of the Bad Taste Bears, some are reduced to £2.50 now !
  • What if the thing we bought goes wrong?? how could we get the refund????????????

    1) If it's expensive enough, pay with a credit card.
    2) The manufacturer's warranty will still be valid, however as the manufacturer will probably be in Korea/China/Taiwan etc, that might not be of much use!

Gadget Shop is no longer accepting their gift vouchers... therefore you need to get in line with all the other creditors on that one - I am gutted coz I bought some stuff a couple of months back and they would only give me vouchers when I needed to return them - the vouchers are now worthless :pale:
You gotta be in it to win it, and who knows you might even get a Brucie!
