It may sound a little naff, but watch a couple of the 'House Doctor' programmes on TV, usually repeated constantly on SKY. That will give you a few good tips, basic advice is fresh neutral colours and declutter.

Sky? That must be the thing our neighbours get, y'know, the ones who got dishes installed before we ran out of space on the pole and the management company refused to install another ;)
    My TV is broken!

lol, simple cleaning isn't a problem, you all obviously didnt see my thread at Xmas where mrs teb made me take down all the decorations i'd helpfully put up just because she hadn't done her usual thorough clean first! this place will be shining and all clutter gone, trust me. :D

its more the diy things that need doing that were worried about tbh. its interesting what little jaffa said about the agent, the agent we got out was pretty vague but the things he did say, my mates have disagreed with and told me to do them. they reckon its worth spending money so we can sell easier and we'll get the ceiling price or even a little more. i just heard that 2 (smaller with less garden) houses sold last week round the corner for £20k more than the supposed ceiling price  they were in really good condition inside though. we would need to get as much as possible for this place to help us move, it's not just a case of getting it sold, we need as much as poss or we probably wont be able to get a big enough mortgage.

anyone else got an opinion about the difference between the upstairs/downstairs doors please?

does lining paper show up the lumps and bumps in the wall? our walls are not great, these houses were just plasterboarded when they were built, not plastered and over time theres all sorts of nicks and filled bits that are just not flat enough for just paint. we always wallpaper just to hide the flaws.

thanks for all the advise, keep it coming.
