Hi everybody
Im 20 years old and i've been claiming job seekers allowance for roughly 3 months. Now i've been posting videos onto youtube for about 2 months and i was offered the chance to monetise my videos, basically adverts are put on my videos and i earn a % of any revenue. At first the money i was earning was literally 50p a day was good but in recent days my videos have been doing really well and as such my revenue has gone through the roof. as off 9.30 i have made £31.74 today. Now since this sin't a job and i dont have to do anything the ads earn money even when im asleep so i was just wondering if and how these earnings when they are paid into my account will effect my claiming of jobseekers allowance. perhaps one day i will be earning enough to live of these earnings but not yet. In advance thanks fro any advice any of you guys can give me. peace.

1. They are income, so they have to be declared. Failure to declare the income would be fraud.
2. you get the income as a result of your endeavours - if you didn't create the videos, you wouldn't get the income; so they *could* be seen as earned income (which iirc has disregards available that an unearned income would not)
You might also need to declare the income for tax if it rises enough! :cool:0 -
Well done. How many views are you getting per day to effectively make £30 on them? I know some people make a living out of just this. Shame all my hobbies are boring and would not interest a sole! Lol.0
