just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue - not used my itunes account in months and have just tried to input my card details but it keeps being declined and i have no idea why. All the details are correct, and i am definitelyinputting them correctly plus i have money in my bank account.
Its a visa debit card, if that makes any difference? Has anyone else had this problem?

No idea, but as a work-around you could buy an iTunes voucher and put that on your account instead of a card. This often works out cheaper too, as you can often get discounted iTunes vouchers.0
