Hi, I need to install OCR on my lexmark printer (for some reason it didn't load when I first brought the printer a few years ago)
The trouble is, I can't find the cd that came with it.
I have checked on Lexmark website and it says you can download drivers for printer but not for OCR, you need the cd for that.
I have checked ebay and google but cannot find a replacement cd.
Is there any way round this problem please.

Thanks deanos, I not a whizz on computers so am a bit wary of what to download. I tried to download from a site the other day but it turned out to be be something to do with norton and not what it was meant to be, so I deleted it!
I was hoping that there was a nice simple way round this problem :o

One option which does not require installation

    http://www.free-ocr.com/

    Other options

    http://www.freeocr.net/

Set a restore point, download one, install and run it, if it is suitable, just use that one.

If you download one which is not suitable, you can either return to the restore point made prior to installation, or use control panel, programmes and features ( add and remove programmes) to uninstall and then try another one
