BT Help!!!!!

Can I just rant a bit please. We moved.(3rd Feb) Gave BT more than the '5 working days' as requested on their web site. They said ok, might be a prob so we will book an engineer, but sorry one not available till 19th Feb, shouldn't need him though we just have to book it. Ok we thought, we've moved before, they just switch the line. Soooo we move, wait for phone on the monday. Uh Uh nothing happens, ring them and we are told we had booked the new line from the 19th. Not so we say. Oh well we are told, must be some problem. But line might come on before then ?????? Keep trying it. Well we did and nothing happened. So I booked day of work for 19th which was a Monday. On the saturday we get a text saying line will come on on 19th - no need for engineer to call. Wasnt impressed with that, but too late to cancel day off. Oh suprise, line didnt come on on the monday, told engineer would call on the Tues (grovel to boss to get another day off) oh and they will give us £10 off next bill for our inconvienience. WOW. Engineer comes Tues...its prob with box up the road. Ask when broadband be on..told couple of hours. Well couple of hours passed and no green lights, so after spending about 2 hours being passed round india am told be tomorrow. Rush home from work and still no green lights. DP rings good old india again and speaks to lovely bloke, no I'm not being sarcastic he was brill....did everything he could,(we did take his name and email customer services and praise him) but unfortunately still no green lights! eventually trans to very stroppy woman who said it will come on tomorrow. It didn't, rang up and was told engineer would come on Friday...another day off work grrrrrr I wont have no holiday left!. 8.30 on the Friday engineer rings to say it was problem at exchange......someone didnt flick switch after our line went on. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Ring customer services again and ask to speak to a manager, she was very offhand and just said put it in writing. Well I work in customer services and if I had taken a call from a customer complaining and just told him to put it in writing and my manager found out i had said that, i would be down jobcentre tomorrow! Where I work we are supposed to take personal responsibilty for complaints and try to sort things out before its taken further. I think BT's attitude stinks. How is it ok for them to keep making mistakes....oh could it be I have no option but to used them for my phoneline....well I do have the option not to use them for the broadband and guess who will be changing!
