Remote locking problem with a CMax

I have a 2008 Ford C-Max that started to get a bit fussy about when it would allow the remote locking to work.

Suddenly it stopped working altogether so off I went, got a replacement battery....and it still doesnt work!

I have tried to reset it as explained in the handbook but it still wont work.

I can open it with the key but have to quickly put my key in the ignition or the alarm goes off!

Does anyone have any ideas of how to get this working again, preferably without having to go anywhere near a Ford garage where it would no doubt cost me the price of a new car to put right!

Thanks in advance

When you connected up the battery did you follow the correct reset proceedure. Some cars can get very funny if they are not restarted in the correct way. This may not be in the handbook but a google search may yeild some answers.

Dodgy battery connection. Or faulty buttons on the remote.

When you program the remote do you get the right beep tones when it enters program mode but none when you come to press a button?

  • RDG - They guy in the car spares place put the battery in for me - I couldnt even work out where to put it :o Will do a google check now and see if I can find any suggestions - I only went by what the manual said, which didnt seem to do anything.

Forgotmyname - It beeps when I quickly turn it back and firth as it says in the manual but then nothing once it's done - will check the battery connections on the remote, failing that I guess its a new remote!?
