Where to start....!
We are going away in 5 weeks and needed passports for 2 children. we used check and send at the post office and on Monday my sons passport was posted mid-afternoon with a postcard saying there were two letters with the same name for my prop number and another in my street and the other pssport had been delivered to the neighbours instead (very suspect as my name is quite unusual so I know there are not 2 of me in my street!!). I was annoyed anyway that the delivery guy didn;t knock to tell me of his mistake just posted the card and drove off! To make matters worse the property it's been posted to looks empty and looks like it has been for some time.
Any advice??
I can't believe how careless the couriers have been. I kno its unlikely but for all they know a weirdo could have lived there, took my daughter's passport, kidnapped her and taook her out of the country! I know it's unlikely but they ask for so much identification etc to get a passport and then just post it willy nilly!

Phone the advice line and tell them about the card. The courier is responsible for delivering to the correct address and retrieving it if it has been delivered to the wrong address. I would also put in a strong complaint,in writing, to both the Customer Services at the Passport office and the Courier0

the IPS uses a secure courier service to return our new passports.
they maybe secure but are useless every otherwise.
they say that they tried to deliver but no one was at home-LIE
they dont leave a reference no nor card so impossible to contact them.
there is no one to contact on the couriers website , just recorded
messages.
we pay for this useless service, i wonder if the owners are somehow related to some big shot in the government.
the old passport was safely returned by 2 class post without any problems.
i used the check & send service and it has now been 20 days..
i dont know where my new passport is or if it will ever get to me.
why not use a service that is not only secure but reliable.
why cant i talk to someone when i am paying for the service.0 -
As the majority of people get their passports with no issues, it clearly isn't a "useless service"...
The complaints number is 0845 600 3613 - presumably they could help rearrange the delivery at the very least. I assume you've called IPS already about it?0
