I'm planning to do a motorbike tour somewhere exotic. Thoughts on going on a charity vs normal expedition?
Key differences etc.?
Charity:-

Normal:-

http://www.compassexpeditions.com/
PS...
Riders for Health recommends this day course for £199. Have anyone been on it or others they can recommend?

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I've done both Vietnam and nepal as motorbike holidays not charity/holidays. Can't recommend Vietnam more highly beautiful place and people are amazing great to see by bike.0

I have a few friends who have done charity adventure rides, some with private tours and others who DIY. They have all said they enjoyed their adventure, even Bob who broke his leg on day 1 :rotfl:.
Charity ride tours are very expensive and encourage participants to get donations. If you decide to do that please do not bug your friends. Very little of the money raised goes to charity and I object  to being asked to fund someone's holiday."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
