Thinking of Claiming PPI.....Help

I had a loan about 6 -7 years ago with HSBC. I have no idea if I had PPI or not. Since taking out this loan I have moved house a couple of times and no longer bank with HSBC. The loan was passed to a Link Financial, who I am paying every month.

Can anybody please give me some advise? How do I find out if I even had PPI and if I can claim it back.

Thanks

Enclose £10 and ask for all info they hold on you, they may not find you due to the time that has lapsed, give them as much info about you as you can to help them find you.

If you win redress it is possible that they may take this towards the loan that you still owe, they may not but be aware they can.
