Carers Allowance with DLA

My wife is currently receiving CA on behalf of our daughter. Because her wages sometime rise above the threshold she doesn't always receive CA. I've been informed that because I am on ESA which is less than the £100 threshold it would make sense for me to claim DLA instead of my wife. The problem is that I am also on DLA (lower rate personal care). I know I cannot provide physical help (I myself have Fibromyalgia) but I can provide mental and encouraging help. So regarding this would I be entitled to apply CA?

You mean can you claim ca? Wouldnt that be a massive anomoly. Someone who is disabled enough for DLA. Stating they could also be "well" enough to claim for caring 35 hours a week.
I think the govt is scrapping that aren't they?
Does not suggest to me you are able to care in the capacity required because of your own condition, but want to claim the money as your wife earns too much?0 -
ESA is an overlapping benefit with CA, this means you won't get paid the CA if you are on ESA(CB) or it will be deducted as income from your ESA(IR). If the latter you'll still receive the Carers Premium.0
