There is a simple option. Turn the TV off or to another channel.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

Some of the designers they have on QVC are so 'me, me, me' that I can see why the presenters talk over them. I could never understand why people watched shopping channels, but then my mum introduced me to them and now I am hooked. They can be so funny, especially the hideous jewellery and clothes. I can't imagine the models would ever been seen dead in any of the things they have to model.0 -
If bored, a flick through the sky channels from about 630 can be therapeutic, first you have the hilarious shopping channels and then you move on to the live sex chat lines, nowt funnier than women throwing themselves around a sofa whilst on the phone. Then you come to the marvellous Indian Soap Opera channels which again are great fun to watch. And then, the icing on the cake...The Dating channels!
Of course, alcohol makes the whole experience much much funnier.
As an aside, Baby TV when drunk is also a very trippy experience!!0 -
That reminds me of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKD5pKzzXvU wonderful clip inspired by some of those cheap call-in channels...0

I used to watch Bid Tv and Price Drop mainly for a laugh when they used to race through items, but now they have tried to go upmarket and you end up waiting for ages to even see the price.
Peter Simon could be funny to watch on Bid.
Now I only watch QVC or Ideal World if nothing is on and they have a technology hour. Most of the stuff is the same price or dearer than other retailers.
I love the way the hosts one time tell people you don't want a desktop PC, it's unsightly, a laptop is portable and so much more compact.
But then when they are selling one, it changes to, a laptop is ok, but a desktop is so much more expandabe and you don't have to worry about the battery running out and your not running around looking for the charger before your document is lost etc.
Basically they can cut down 50% of the time they spend, by not repeating themselves over and over about the same things. The focus is always on the items big plus points and they never mention that that upto 7 hours battery life is only if you leave it doing nothing for 6 hours of it.0 -

not sure if he still on it but Greggles was good on bidReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -
Ah yes, I didn't watch him first time around, then he came back to the channel a year or two later.
I really haven't watched more than 5 mins here or there of Bid/Price Drop in the last couple of years.0 -
I agree with pulliptears - they are amazing to watch totally overboard with everything adn they dont half sell some bloody tat too. Maeks you wonder who buys a solar powered frog fountain for your garden.. Who really believes that a ring can be reduced from £12000 to £399 ? .
They alway say it is not what the piece of jewellry is worth - just a starting point in thier defence though"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
I am always amused by the "presenters" that say "Oh, I/my mum/Dave next door has one of these...." or "I recently got this TV/laptop/DVD player...."
They must have houses full of crap in that case.0
