As someone formally involved in Community Safety I urge you please to make contact with your local PSNI Community Safety Officer and report this guy. Trading Standards an excellent organization and worth tipping off too. Why not give BBC NI's excellent On your behalf a call too. Just google it!

I'm sure we could muster up an MSE Norn Iron visiting party for Mr Singh and persuade him to return your fathers money;)

This type of Vermin that preys on the elderly needs dealt with, I really would contact the local police use the 0845 600 8000 number as it is non emergency. They may not be able to do anything but have a word with this character, but it might put him off doing it again.

On a more serious note rosie383 there is a local radio show presenter, Stephen Nolan, who would happily bring this scam to listeners' attention.

I'm sure someone will follow along with his contact details.

I'd definitely report it to the Police personally.

:T:Tme too inform the police immediately so they can warn the elderly, maybe a phone call to the local newspaper and tv station they may warn people also.

so sad to hear people are stealing from the elderly,i wish your dad well.

I live 2 mins away from your father. I would most definitely report it to the police. Is 'Mr Singh' his real name? What I have found a lot of people do is to report it on Facebook and ask their friends to repost it. I no longer have a facebook or I would have offered to post it for you.

Steven Nolan is also a good bet.

This is so sad. We have elderly people in our road, and i for one always tell callers not to call at certain addresses if im home. If i see them calling round i go over and demand there company details and ring up. Many a time a double glazing seller has decided to still call.

Low life that seam to deam the elderly easy prey deserve to be name and shamed along with a nice big picture for all to see. Failing that a set of stocks in the town centre for all to throw rotte fruit and veg at would be a suitable punishment. All form an orderly queue.......

I'm sure all sides could unite for such a good cause :)

Seriously thou do not let this lie, local community policing has come a long way over the past few years and they will understand you dads nervousness. They may only have a word with this character, but that maybe all it takes to stop him doing it again to someone else.
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

Do contact Stephen Nolan - I was listening to a story on the radio he did yesterday where a woman whose husband had died couldn't cancel his Orange contract, and at one point she was told her husband would have to buy out his contract despite being dead!! I think Stephen would love a story like this.

What a horrible story though, I am always worried my elderly parents will fall for something like this.
