Also if you haven't specified in your auction that the buyer can collect, I don't see any reason why you should have to, and for the sake of 1.25

Just repy politely saying that you are sorry but collection is not an option.0

Should have just said no, the buyer should have asked before buying, as it stands he bought it with postage costs.
Is it really worth all the hassle of meeting the buyer for the sake of 1.25, what if you have to wait for ages for him to turn up.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
My usual line for people not collecting in person is along the lines 'unfortunately due to work and family commitments this item can only be posted'. Usually does the trick.0

If the buyer did not have the courtesy to ask you prior to bidding on your item then I would respond that it isn't an option to collect your item.
I NEVER assume I can just collect a local item - and neither should your buyer. I've had something similar to this. As has been said, if you didn't offer pickup as an option you're under no obligation. Frankly I find there is the odd timewaster/troublemaker buyer on Ebay: people with very empty lives who, while not necessarily sinister, love to make difficulty just for the sake of it. I guess it's one way to get attention!0

for such a low amount I personally think that it's a lot of hassle on your part. One you don't know the person, two they may or may not turn up on time. I'd do as suggested above and say that the item can only be posted and, if need be, re-list if they pull out.

After posting last night that I would meet at Tescos I read Niksans reply and spoke to my bf who was not happy at the idea of me meeting anybody even with the krazy kids!! So to buy myself time I replied to buyer that due to unforseen circumstances I would not be about today. And have had a reply that She/He would be happy to come over any time that is good for me so thanx to the above posters I will be saying that as I didnot offer collection as a option i will not be meeting and will post out item on payment. Thankyou to everyone who helped me with this.:beer:I miss my mum every minute of every day
