Someone Else using my home address to insure their Car

Hello All,
would like some advice, i suspect someone who used to live in my house as a lodger 3 years ago is insuring his car with my home address even though he moved nearly 3 years ago.
Is there a way i can find out if he is insuring his car at my address without the details of the car.
Many thanks

(Does he get post at your home? Maybe you can think of a way of seeing what it says in any mail from insurers he gets?)0 -

Thanks Quentin,
the problem is a letter had arrived from DVLA under his name but before i could get my hands on it another member of the family had threw it in the bin.
is there away i could find out how many cars are insured at my address (it should be 1 mine) but my worry is if i phone my insurers up to see if they would have this info that they will assume i have been lie when asked if there was another car at my household address
could i ask DVLA as i know the name and DOB of the person i suspect.Total Debt in June 2013: Barclaycard 0% until Nov 2014: £1550

Technically it depends on how they are using the address.
They can use your address purely as a correspondence address as long as they are declaring where the vehicle is being kept - it isnt uncommon for students to keep their parents address for the post but declare the term time address for where the car is most commonly.
Evidently as they dont have access to mail at your address it would be a daft thing to do but legal/ acceptable.0 -

I wouldn't worry about this too much.
Usually having access to more cars is a positive thing, so it is not advantageous to say you only have 1 car.
As the "lie" isn't in your interest then it's extremely unlikely to be a problem.
It's only a problem is there is some discount attached which does't apply here.0 -

Many thanks InsideInsurance.
would this then make my Insurance void given that i declared to my insurer that there is only 1 car at my address. surely if my insurance were to find out this person also had used my address to insure his vehicle my insurer would assume i was lieing.
I know most of what i have stated is circumstantial and more in hindsight of What IF but i don't want to find myself penalised for another persons lie. even if its legal and acceptable.
also what if this person was to make a claim given his used my address would this not effect my premiums as the my address would probably seem more risky to claimsTotal Debt in June 2013: Barclaycard 0% until Nov 2014: £1550

do you mean if this persons premiums are lower than mine?
but the thing is i do only have 1 car at the address and this persons car is not at the address but my suspicions tell me he is using my address to insure his car which may be advantageous to him my would this make my policy void to the fact that i specifically told my insurer that there is only 1 car at that address (the truth)
apologies if my comments seems rude or distressed. i just don't need this to huant me later. and would rather stop it nowTotal Debt in June 2013: Barclaycard 0% until Nov 2014: £1550

No.
The DVLA envelope is pretty "circumstantial"!0 -

Many thanks,
yes i agree everything i have stated is very circumstantial and given that i never actually saw the DVLA letter i maybe stressing over nothing.
but this person was dodgy when he lived at my address so maybe i am stressing.
but it has made me think that if people can put someone else's address on their insurance and this is deemed legal and acceptable imagine the number of fraud that may happen especially if you have insurance online and you recieve all documents online

It isn't "deemed legal and acceptable", but the consequences of this would all fall onto the policyholder who has used the false address, not the innocent householder who lives there.0 -
I think you worry too much. I can't think of any negative effect this could have on you.0
