Virgin Media increased my monthly bill without notifying me.

I logged onto my bill this morning to have a surprise as my bill was more than expected £3.50 more.

I checked and this is because the service charges have gone up by this much.

However firsty I was never notified of this change and if I had been I would have rang up as I only renewed my contract in February and would have argued that they knew these were effective and therefore I was within my rights to now cancel the contract as I didn't agree to the charges.

I'm going to ring them today as I'm not that bothered about having the TIVO it's not as fantastic as I thought and I think i'm best to just have freeview now so I don't pay the crazy prices I pay I hardly use the internet in my house as it is.

What are my rights here does anyone know? Surely I should have been pre notified and what can I do now they're trying to charge me this extra?

    Thanks. I've just rang them at first I had a really rude woman in cusomer services who was basically like tough you have to pay it you've been sent a letter. In informed her I hadn't received any notification at all and eventually she put me through to customer relations and I explained to a nice gentleman the situation and he said fair enough on this occasion we'll refund you for the months you have left remaining on your contract.

    So i'm happy with that. I think i'll just leave at the end of my contract still though as like I said TIVO wasn't as great as I thought lol!!
