My current tenancy agreement ends July 9th and I've given notice.
And end of June I'm moving to a new Flat in the same area and the same amount of rent each month.
I receive Partial housing benefit..
Obviously i will have to provide the housing department with the new agreement but I'm DREADING the nice long wait it will take for them to work out that the money is all the same as before.....
They take so long and I'm using all my money for the deposit/first months rent so its going to be a nightmare.
Does anyone else have a housing department that takes 3 months to read a letter properly?

I recieved a letter from my HB dept to say they have stopped my HB, they got my information completly wrong, I sent a letter asking them to look at it again as they had got the wrong information, that was in the middle of Feb, I still havent heard anything and my rent arrears are building up! I am paying as much as I can and my housing officer is being ok about it all but how can it take over 2 months to look at things?
When I phoned them last week to ask how it was going I was told there was a huge back log due to the olympics!!! I understand our council have a lot of work to do concerning the olympics due to the sailing events being held in our town, but what the hell has it got to do with housing benefit??not all on benefits are scroungers and don't need to be bullied!0 -
