Prestige Rooflines

Hi,
I had a leaflet through the door quoting £1100 to remove existing wood and replace all fascias, soffits, guttering, bargeboards, dry verge with UPVC.
I have a couple of questions if anyone knows.
1. Is this a good price for this job on a 3 bed link detached house? I had the front done years ago so this would be for both long sides and rear gable.
2. Has anyone heard of the company? I can't find any reviews online. They are Prestige Rooflines based in Oldham.
Thanks

I have also had a leaflet from them this week. I live in Warrington, 4 bed detached. They have quoted £1685 and I am also querying the cost.
A few searched reveals they have been trading since around September 2011. This could mean they have gone bust recently and re-named themselves or they could be a genuine new company.
I do not mind paying a an honest day's wage for an honest day's work but as with all home improvement companies (windows, kitchens, bathrooms etc) the prices are always massively over inflated compared with purchasing the materials and doing it yourself.
for this job i have visited the following site which sells roofline materials to the public.
bliby.net (google it as I cant post links)
I have over-estimated my house dimensons to 10x10m, so 40m perimeter to give some fat in the estimate.
I reckon materials will be no more than £400 including all clips, nails, sealants etc.
I am happy to accept up to 25% markup on materials so say £500 materials.
most companies will quote you 2 days for 2 men. A reasonable wage would be £100/man-day so another £400.
This comes to a total of £900. Add another £100 for profit and you have a nice round £1k I am willing to pay.
unfortunately this falls short of the £1685 they are asking. can anyone advise where in my calculations I have missed a large chunk of cash? or should I just bend over and accept the fact they can make a massive profit and maybe reconsider my Job as and engineer and re-train to be a roof fitter?0 -
