Did Anyone Get Hit With The Mac Virus

Hi
I have a mac and no I did not get the virus. However, sad to have to say it, but unfortunately malware for the Mac is on the rise. The risk to your Mac is still minor, but as Macs become more popular, they are receiving more attention. I have just downloaded Sophos anti virus MAc edition for free. It has not slowed down my machine and it is was dead easy to install. Hope it helpsHi just wondered if anyone got hit with the apple mac virus i heard about? See i was considering buying a mac rather than buying a new pc because people are always telling me that macs never get viruses and that all viruses are made for pcs only. Now im no technical wizz so i dont know if that was true or not but then i heard about a mac virus affecting people and just wondered if it was a big deal or not or was it just a minor thing blown out of proportion?
And if i do buy a mac can anyone recommend a specific one for me just for browsing the internet, basic word processing and photo editing

I've had AV on mine since the day I bought it. My view is that every computer no mater what OS it's running should have AV on it.
It's not just about protecting your own machine.
Everyone I email regularly, other than one person, uses a PC and if I get a file sent to me that contains a virus I want to detect and remove it rather than ignore it on the basis that it won't run on either my Mac or Linux machines. I don't want to be responsible for forwarding an infected file to someone who it may cause problems for.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
I refuse to get into a battle of wits with someone who is clearly unarmed.
When quoting someone you should really use quote marks. Its also considered polite to quote them correctly not to mention crediting them with their quote.
It seems a half-wit gave you a piece of his mind, and you held on to it.0 -
