Well here it goes
We have a caravan for sale. It is listed on ebay and we also listed it in our local adtrader.
A couple of days later we (well a relatives who it is) got a call from https://www.motorhelpuk.co.uk saying we are a finance company and we list your caravan on our site for you, we normally have lots of calls so have your pen ready' 'that will be £70' so she thought okay. I will give it ago. I need to sell it..
Looked on the site 'name of caravan' colour 'cream green'(not even the colour) 'price'
Thats it.. All that for £70. Not even right area listed aswell
She was fuming. She rang up and they said we will put what description what you want and pictures...that will be £20 :mad: So she paid and i sent the pictures via email
Next day. The description changed.. It was TOTALY wrong! It made out that we was selling Jet Ski's and Fishing Equipment and it was all wrong spelling! The pictures went on and they had missed on off and that was the main one of the front.
Rang up... blablabla They changed it and put the pictures right. Still a week and no phone calls
Thursday. She got a phone call from another company saying we are a caravan selling company.. We only sell caravans(as the other one was all motors) she said ok.. because we have had no luck on motorhelp.. She told them she has the listing on motorhelpuk and not been very happy with the service. He said okay.. well we are not like that. We are only caravans. Name 'Caravanhelp' https://www.caravanhelp.co.uk . On the phone he said how can we get the pictures. She said it is on ebay. He said okay we can get it from there. Job done! 'That will be £50!' paid it.
Later that day i got an email from Motorhelpuk saying that you for your listing.
What listing! we didnt give motorhelpuk my email address only Caravan help
So i dicided to check out this caravanhelp site.. It was basic and simple. Went to search... Same searches,,,box,,all listing... same description...pictures.. EVEREYTHING!! well i was fuming!!
Rang them up 'welcome to motorhelpuk' told them that i am not happy.. Can i speak to john and they said he is not in(as they do) so i was put through to a manager. They said it has to be put in writing :mad:
Rang up later and the person who i was talking to was very nice and said they will ring back.. They did and was going to give her back the £50
So there is my story!

I had a similar problem with a company called cardata when I wal selling my car. I phoned trading standards about it and they said that unless they have stated in writing to you that the fee is non-refundable, then you can claim a full refund. I wrote to them and demanded my money back and got it!
It might be worth phoning trading standards and asking their advice - you might be able to get all your money back. Good luck!0 -

Thankyou for this.. I did get the £50 back from the caravan help. Thankyou for the links provided. Reading on the other forums it sounds deffinatly a scam. I am going to ring up tommorow and say i am interested in this caravan and see what i get back from them;)

If it was me I'd copy the letter the guy on the other forum used, just change his details for yours and threaten court action = looks like he got all his money back0
