Time from application to completion?

Hi there,

we are FTB who had a bid accepted on a house on Tuesday and applied for our mortgage on Thursday. We will receive a (hopefully positive!) response from the lender on Monday.

The new house needs a bit of work before we move in with our toddler, so while I am keen to get in and crack on with that, we are tied in to our rent until August 1st and we have only budgeted for three months of paying both rent and mortgage at the same time. So really we will need to be in by June 1st but not before May 1st, iyswim!

In everyone's experience, how long does it generally take to get from this stage to completion? There is no chain either end.

Thanks :D
