Hands up everybody who hasn't started a loaf without the paddle in?
Wot? No hands?
Not me. At least, not yet. However, the second time I used a bread machine, I didn't push the bucket/bowl/breadpan/whatever-you-call-it into the machine far enough for it to engage the mechanism so came home to hot, rock-hard flour. Stinky, too.
(And there I was feeling so smug because I'd set the timer for the first time, so would have hot, fresh bread when I got home....)"Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

Messy indeed. Much prefer it when I forget the water!
(thankfully only on a dough cycle so I had a pan of nicely mixed dry ingredients ready to start all over again!)0 -
Me too!
On Monday I got the BM out for its annual holiday from the cupboard, found a packet of bread mix dated July 2011, put everything in the tin, then realised the paddle wasn't in where it should be.
Tipped everything into a dish, put the paddle in, then the gloopy mix back, set it away and 'Hey Presto' it came out lovely :T2025 Fashion on the ration

I don't feel so bad now, lol! I also used the mixture, as I didn't want to waste it, and yes it was very messy, lol, but the bread came out ok in the end!
Of course it wouldn't have happened if OH had put the paddle back in the breadmaker after washing it, instead of putting it in the drawer! I often have to hunt for things, as he never puts things back where they belong, but I can't complain too much, at least he does the washing up!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs
