Can non-resident UK national open bank account in UK?

    As per plunt's post Nationwide International is probably about your best bet if looking for a savings account. Nationwide UK are backing the Offshore arm of their business.

    Lloyds is also a decent bet but I would steer well clear of A & L international due to past problems with a large balance I had trouble getting out since Santander took over.

    Investment accounts are a little easier to get opened as long as you have the ID needed, Hargreaves Lansdown and TD Direct Investing tend to be okay for European based customers but there are probably others too. Just beware that you will obviously have your capital at risk with investments.
