I've just downloaded dropbox to my smartphone and set up the 4 digit pin so no-one can access my files.

However, i've realised that if i go into my gmail app, you can attach any of the files, so the pin code seems a little redundant. If someone nicks my phone all the have to do is email themselves my documents !!!

Can you put a pass lock on your smart phone ?

yeah, i can set a pin number or pattern to get into my phone.

also in addition to the pin/pattern lock if someone steals your phone, log into the dropbox website and change your password, (also change the password for anything else gmail, facebook, ect.)

that way they shouldn't have access anymore.

One of the things most people forget to do regarding phone locks is to actually set a pin on the sim card too. Okay great if your phone is locked when it's stolen, but a sim lock also stops them from using your sim in another phone.
