    Hi Lucky

Hope things have settled down by now. I bet you sort of hoped they would say hubby couldn't have his tattoo but you know men when they get a bee in their bonnets. Once its done its done. Re the spending on yourself why don't you set yourself up a little "pot" and put the odd bit of money in now and again. After a couple of months have a look what you've got and spend it on you. Even if it's only a small amount.

Robin - your advice as always is excellent. I used to eat sugar free mints years ago and started getting horrific pains in my tummy - so bad that I thought I had appendicitis. Stopped eating them and the pain disappeared. Found out at a later date they had aspartame in them and this is one of the side effects.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

  • Thanks again everyone, especially Robin for your very thought provoking comments. We shall certainly discuss that with the consultant. DH is a fan of energy drinks and recently had some Mr A's own brand stuff, think it was maybe last week though.

DH has been better today but has been a bit slower than normal brain wise. He's lost what he was trying to say a couple of times and says he is 'thinking back to front'. This was proven when he arranged his shoes to put them on and he put them round the wrong way (ie right foot, left foot rather than left foot, right foot). I will be keeping a close eye on him.

DF(w) you'd think I lived in the ghetto lol. I forgot about the old man flashing his meat and 2 veg in the hospital as well until I read Piq's diary :rotfl:. The nurses must have some stories to tell at the end of each shift!

SA I like the idea of a pot but hand on heart I wouldn't spend it on myself as I'm so desperate to get all the debts paid off, I know it would go to them instead. I promise when I'm debt free I will set up a pot just for me! I still have the money from the Gas and Elec refund sat there for carpets too. Need to get that sorted before I just send it to the credit card! Xx

Hi plmbl, Sorry I haven't been around during all your recent trials. It is great news that DH is now home and has an appointment for Monday. Hopefully he will be put on a slightly higher dose of his meds.

Don't worry about the STS. With all that is going on in your life it is brilliant to be able to do just that.

I think I must have been at a pretty tame hospital compared to the one DH was in. We have spent best part of a week in Emergency assessment unit. Nothing interesting happened at all. :D

Sadly I still have fibromyalgia despite not consuming any aspartame :(

  • Pooh we were in the Emergency Assessment Unit too!! We started in A&E, then the observation ward, back to A&E, then the EAU followed by a normal medical ward! We must have just hit 'lucky' with the drama! I hope you are keeping ok after DA's passing Xx

    Hi Lucky

Sorry for butting in - read your posts, what a time you are having - AND you still think about getting weighed, what focus you have, amazing. I'd also say those energy caffeine type drinks are full of chemicals so I'd probably keep off them whatever your condition.

I was looking for Beanie to say Hi & we miss you

  • Cheers all!

    In terms of sticking to the diet while everything else is crumbling around me, I do it because;
    1) It's the one thing I can control.
    2) Ultimately it will make me feel better than a bar of chocolate will.
    3) I need to be healthy to take better care of my family and be around longer.
    4) It gives me something else to focus on/think about.
    5) Going to fat class is my social life and the only hour a week that it's 'all about me'!!

This morning we went to ToysRus to get a few bits for DS2's birthday on Sunday. Got a few bargains so I'm pleased with that! Also bought a present for one of his classmates who's birthday party is Saturday - £20 down to £6.96!! I normally have a £5 limit for friends birthdays but it was too good to pass up for an extra £2!

DH is more 'switched on' today but a bit down. I know the feeling!!! Xx
