But this clearly isn't true...
They promoted the fact a payment could be covered SAME day it is presented. That's what the Text/Email alerts are all about.
Despite the other failures being discussed here, it HAS been possible to cover payments same day (NOT have money there the night before)0 -

The grace period is a privilege so in reality the funds should be in your account by the close business the previous working day.
In your circumstances you may want to open another account where they can offer you ALL the services you require.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

I doubt the exclusion is even legal. But nothing surprises me where the incompetence of banks is concerned. Now I'm looking for another bank, where the systems actually work properly...
I doubt you'll find one. Even the mobile networks don't guarantee to deliver text messages in a timely manner or even at all.
A spreadsheet and online banking will become your friends.
Oh, and which law do you think NatWest would be breaking?0 -
A privilege !! It's a privilege for them to have customers...

Tell me about it ! Would love to. Who is this magical Bank I dream about ? In reality in this country we're dealing with the 'least bad' rather than any bank we can call Good0 -

Well, I think Trading Standards would be a good starting point for complaint. I'm sure they have list of issues this relates to. False advertising etc. etc.
I've already started the Bank's own complaints procedure with a view to taking these issues to the Ombudsman0 -

Just learn to manage your money. The bank do not say its 100% as its already been said
We will not be responsible if, for any reason, we are unable to send you an Alert or, for any reason, you do not receive the Alert.
You just sound like another person who does not read the terms and conditions.

Your just an other account number and sort code to Natwest.0 -
Why not just apply for a small overdraft? A £100 overdraft with Natwest is interest free, and so will cost you nothing, and at least you'll have buffer for any unexpected payments. Or you could have a separate bills account for your DD's, leave enough in there to cover them, and move whats left to a separate spending account.
Alternatively, you could just learn to manage your own money better, rather than expecting the bank to do it for youDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0 -

Whilst your at it report Santander, First Direct & Lloyds TSB as they can not guarantee it either. As already been mention not even the mobile phoen providers can guarantee the delivery of text messages. If you can navigate me to where it says there are I would be very happy to read it. As last week I missed a dentist appointment and was charged ten pound as I did not receive there reminder text message.
