16 sales to Italy, 14 claims of item not received. And I'm far from alone with this type of experience.

I could justify the number of refunds against the profit from the few sales that made it to make it worthwhile to continue to send to Italy, or Malta which utilises the Italian postal service.

One tip on posting to Italy........Don't to it.
Only had 3 items not received out of a feed back of over 1,600. All from Italy. They were all higher value items as well!

  • Split higher value items up as your own insurance - it's cheaper than ISF. i.e. send two items seperately. They can't all go missing. I use ISF for items over a certain value. Italy - I have never had any problems. Been royally ripped off from Germany and Portugal though. Just sayin.

Whilst I have split multiple buys before I see no indication here that buyer wants more than one item.

OP, I'm another that has completely blocked Italy, I lose very little but most of my losses were to Italy. I did allow a sale to Italy a few months ago, but that was my first for well over a year and it never arrived. It was however under £46 and I did get a full refund from Royal Mail.

We use Parcelforce regularly (although not for eBay, I work for a record label/event management company) to send to Europe (including Italy) and we’ve not had a problem in the last 2 years.

It was one of the reasons that we stopped using Royal Mail, things going missing.
